 The athletes will have quality coaching designed to teach Fundamental Skills and Good Sportsmanship. The coaches will conduct practices in a positive environment to enable learning to be both fun and rewarding. So, don't miss out on the fun, come and join a sport today!!!
 
 

 

2007 Special Events

Saturday, March 10th - Polar Bear Plunge Fundraiser, Detroit Rowing Club,

Belle Isle. For more information go to www.somi.org. This is a state of

Michigan Special Olympic fundraiser.

 

Saturday, March 10th - the 7th annual Pre-St. Patty's day fundraiser for RHS Special Olympic athletes. Click here to see the flier

 

Saturday, April 14th -Area 23 Bowling at Cloverlanes.  Transportation WILL NOT be provided to athletes since schools will be closed for Spring break. Only athletes who will be able to get a ride to and from the event will be entered to compete.  Parents will need to drive and stay at the event. This was the only option available from the bowling alley this year.

Walkathon Fundraiser Date To Be Determined in April.

 

Friday, May 11th -Area Spring Games - Livonia Franklin High School (Joy

Rd in between Middlebelt and Merriman roads). Students WILL need to be

DROPPED OFF EARLY on this day at Jo Brighton between 7-7:15a.m..

Bus will leave at 7:30, no later.

 

Athletes will be able to ride their district busses home, but need to

inform the busses the night before if they are doing so.

 

Mid May - Special Olympic Sports Banquet, date To Be Determined.

 

State Summer Games: Thursday May 31st -Saturday June 2nd at Central

Michigan University. Only pre-registered athletes will be attending.

Parents of attending athletes will have already been notified in advance and have returned permission notes allowing the athlete to attend the overnight games. Athletes may ride their district busses in, bringing their bags/suitcases with them.

 

ATHLETES MUST be picked up by 7:45 p.m. Saturday, June 2nd in front of Jo Brighton upon our bus arriving back from Central Michigan.
