Vocational Preparation:

The focus of the VP class is to teach 1st year students various job and social skills.

The concepts of teamwork and responsibility are strongly stressed and integrated daily within the classroom.

Skills are presented in various ways to help the students better understand what will be expected of them in other classes while at Jo Brighton. Some of  the skills taught and worked on are as follows: social, work, safety, community, household, money, time telling, personal, volunteering, and grooming.

Job skills worked on and taught mimic, as closely as possible, the other classrooms at Jo Brighton. The various job areas are as follow: Building Services, Bakery, Food Services, Laundry, and Business Practices.

Working in these areas will prepare the students to be able to go into other classes based upon their likes and the skills obtained while in the Voc. Prep. class.
